錫製の茶入れ。モチーフはもちろん、秋の味覚の柿でございます。柿の形を工芸品の歴史は古く、この金属製のほか木をくり貫いたものも昔から多く作られてきました。

この茶入れは、蓋の部分も錫を用いて作られています。色目が違うのは、砂を吹きあてて素地を荒らしているからです。

New work from this fall: Pewter Kogaki”(Small Persimmon) Tea Caddy

A pewter tea caddy. The motif of course is the persimmon, the taste of fall. Persimmon-shaped objects have　a long history; in addition to those made in metal such as this one, there have often been objects made　from hollowed-out wood as well.

The lid of this tea caddy is also made in pewter. The color is slightly different from the container　because it has been sand-blasted to create texture.

手のひらに乗るほどの大きさ（直径約８センチ）で、金属ならではの「重み」もあります。

It just about fits on one’s palm (diameter is around 8cm), and it has the “density” that only metal　has.
