Keitaro Ochi, who used to make jewelry for a living, was once fascinated by the sound of metal. Ochi continues to explore the concept of “sound of metal” in the realm of arts and crafts, which had previously been a part of musical instruments, religious items, and toys.
The sublimated “OTODAMA” series, while making full use of traditional metalworking techniques such as “Kiribame-Inlay” and “Sukashibori-fretwork” is a beautiful multi-faceted composition of symmetry and precision. The hardness, sharpness, and unique coloring of the metal are also highlights.
